Grind Transfer
Single-handed string tricks. One yoyo, usually one that does NOT come back on a tug. You land it on strings and move it through different shapes. This is the biggest modern style.
How to do it
- Already be doing a finger or hand grind.
- Toss the yoyo a little while it's still spinning.
- Catch it on a different finger, your thumb, or your arm.
- Get it back to the string.
Tips
Small toss only. Big tosses make the yoyo tilt.
The physics
The yoyo keeps spinning the whole time you toss it — only the spot where it's touching changes.
